Kiln Drying

We have two iDRY vacuum kilns; one standard and one plus. These kilns are state-of-the-art, industry changing technology. They utilize a vacuum to lower the temperature at which water evaporates, while circulating hot air throughout the chamber. The vacuum pressure also aids in removing moisture from the core to the shell. This allows the wood to dry at a lower temperature which will accelerate the drying time without harming the wood.

To properly dry green lumber, it must be stickered and stacked and air dried until it reaches a moisture content of 30% or less, which can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months before it is ready to be kiln dried.

We can prepare and air dry your green lumber here at our facility or you can bring your air-dried lumber to us. We have a total lead time of 4 to 8 weeks which includes the one to two and a half weeks in the kiln. We use a Wagner Orion 950 Pinless moisture meter throughout the entire process and do the best job that we can with your lumber, but because of a wide variety of variables and differing levels of quality, we cannot guarantee the outcome of the dried lumber.
