Mobile Milling
We will bring our portable saw mill to your location and mill the logs where they lie. Our portable saw mill is a Woodmizer LT 50 full hydrologic that can cut up to 20 feet long and 30 inches in diameter. We can also slab cut a log up to 28 inches in diameter.
We charge a $100.00 set up fee, a $125.00 per hour milling fee, with a four-hour minimum, a $35.00 fee for each band that is ruined from metal in the logs and a travel fee that is based on distance, time and fuel.
Our price includes a mill operator and helper; however, we recommend you provide two additional helpers to maximize the mill’s capabilities. The mill does load itself, and can pick up logs; however, the logs do need to be stacked in a pile where we can set up the mill beside it so that we can manually roll them on to the loader of the mill. We do require additional equipment be on site for any logs over 26 inches in diameter to aid in the process.
Due to the number of variables out of our control with Mobile Milling, it is very difficult for us to determine how much lumber we can mill in a day. Every location is different, but we will do our very best to set the site up for success, and mill your logs as quickly as possible. We have received many compliments on how hard and effective we work. References are available upon request.
Drop Off Milling
Bring your logs, stumps or other tree parts to our yard and we will mill them to your specifications
Woodmizer LT 50 full hydrologic – This mill will cut slabs from logs up to 30 inches in diameter and dimensional lumber from logs up to 34 inches in diameter.
We charge $.50 per board foot for decent quality logs over 8 feet long, $.75 per board foot for quarter sawn lumber, and $.75 per board foot for wood that is of lesser quality such as limbs, pieces of ill shaped wood, logs under 8 feet long or wood with an excessive amount of knots.
*** A $35.00 fee will be charged for each band ruined from metal in the logs.
60 inch band mill – This is a manual piece of equipment which requires more time and effort to process a log; however, with it being a band mill with a smaller kerf than a chainsaw mill, it will yield an additional slab or two per log with a much nicer finish.
This mill is used for cutting slabs from any log over 30 inches in diameter or dimensional lumber from any log over 34 inches in diameter.
We charge $.75 to $1.25 per board foot depending on each individual log.
*** A 55.00 fee will be charged for each band ruined from metal in the logs.
**** Our experience tells us that more than not, most large logs from residential areas contain metal so please plan on replacing a couple of bands per log.
**** We also sell slab wood bundles for $20.00 a bundle.
